17 March 2020: Latest update from Concerts for Craswall regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Following official government advice issued on Monday 16th March, stipulating that people should to avoid pubs, clubs and theatres and stop non-essential travel in an effort to reduce the impact of the coronavirus, we regret to announce that Concerts for Craswall have decided to postpone the fundraiser scheduled for Wednesday April 29th with Cardiff University Chamber Orchestra, conductor Andrea Quinn and narrator Peter Florence.
Postponement is not a decision we’ve taken lightly, as a fundraiser is an important aspect of our continued ability to offer concerts including a piano. Nevertheless, we have a responsibility to our community, audiences, performers and volunteers to play our part in reducing the impact of the virus.
We will continue keep the situation under review and at time of writing, the effect this may have on future events, such as that planned for Saturday July 11th, is unknown. We’ll let you have further information as and when appropriate.
The issue of refunds on all such concerts that are cancelled will be considered in due course. In the meantime, we’ll be contacting all affected customers as soon as possible to make arrangements.
As a small charity refunding everyone will have a financial impact. We are very grateful to those customers who have already donated the cost of the ticket, or have chosen to take a credit to use for a concert later this year, rather than requesting a refund. We realise not everyone will be in a position to do this, however.
The trustees hope that everyone stays healthy and looks out for others. We look forward to seeing you all again as soon as circumstances allow.
Very best wishes on behalf of the trustees of Concerts for Craswall.
