The inaugural recipients of the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Henderson Prize, The Pelléas Ensemble, recently released their debut album, ‘Nature and the Imagination’ with @LinnRecords

Featuring repertoire for flute, viola and harp spanning three centuries, it offers an imaginative programme. From Debussy’s Sonata for flute, viola and harp, and Syrinx, to Rameau’s Deuxième concert in G major, RCT 8 (from Pièces de clavecin en concerts); Sir Richard Rodney Bennett’s Sonata after Syrinx, and Sir Arnold Bax’s Elegiac Trio. Also Benjamin Graves’ Scherzo (written specifically for the ensemble), concluding with Gershwin’s A Foggy Day – Love Walked In (arranged by Stephen Roberts).
